What started as a one-off project quickly grew into a small business supplying homes and local organisations with sturdy, practical timber pieces that are made to last.

Morris & Son Carpentry began in 2016 with a very specific mission — to help raise funds for my son’s school trip to Malawi. He came to me with an idea for a bench, and we built it together, mixing his creative vision with my love of DIY. That first bench sparked everything that followed. My son loved his time in Malawi, and in 2018 I returned separately to support a school-building project, which only reinforced how important it is to make things that genuinely help people.
Since then, we’ve expanded from benches into bin stores, decking, sheds and other built-to-order timber projects, supplying customers across the local area — including outdoor seating for the Exeter Christmas Market, and work for pubs, restaurants and schools. We have a core range, but we’re always happy to discuss bespoke requests.
